GOD HAS MORE FOR YOU
At Edmond Community Church, we love God and others. We believe that being part of the local church is not about religion, but relationships. A relationship with Jesus and with others. That’s why we’re here! ECC is a place where you can come as an explorer, with all your questions just as you are. Our goal the minute you walk through the doors is to help you feel like you found community where you can connect with God and others in a new and fresh way. We believe that church is far more than a weekend experience, it should be about real life and community.
NEXT STEPS:
In any journey, the most important step is the next one. At ECC, our goal is to help you experience the real life Christ offers. But it doesn't happen all at once—it happens one step at a time. Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, you are not alone. Join us as we explore God's plan together. No matter who you are or where you are on your spiritual journey, God has more for you. Here are some common, but most important next steps:

SALVATION:
Jesus' message was, "Repent and believe". Jesus has all power and authority over sin and evil (Matthew 28:18; Hebrews 2:14-15; 1 John 3:8), and through Him we can also live victorious lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” The Bible also says in 1 Corinthians 15:57: “Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The first thing you must do to be saved is admit to God that you are a sinner. Then repent of your sins. What is repentance? Repentance carries with it the idea of confession, sorrow, turning and changing. We shouldn’t ask forgiveness over and over again for our sins and then return to those sins, expecting God to forgive us. We must turn from our practice of sin as best we know how, and turn by faith to Christ as our Lord and Savior. Of course, none of us are perfect, and we will continue to sin, but the important part is that we are genuinely sorry for our sin and make our best effort to correct it.
Once you repent of your sins, ask for God’s forgiveness and recognize Jesus as Lord, thank God for His love and acceptance of you. If we give ourselves to Jesus, He comes into our hearts and lives there (Revelation 3:20). We must commit ourselves to Him and trust Him alone as our Savior and Lord.

This should give you confidence. Not because of what you have done, but because of what Jesus has done for you. You can have complete confidence in everlasting life and experience the joy that comes from knowing Him personally.

BAPTISM:
The first “ask” Jesus makes of a person who commits to follow Him is Baptism. In fact, when we say yes to Jesus in this area of our life, it becomes easier to say “yes” to Him in other areas. If you have made a commitment to Jesus, it is time to take the next step and make your decision known. Baptism is like putting on a uniform. It is an outward expression of inward change that God has made in your life. For more information about baptism stop by our guest services table or speak with a Pastor.

COMMUNITY GROUPS:
Life was never meant to be lived alone. God’s plan all along has been for people to build community together for the better. At ECC, Bible Studies and Community Groups are vital ways to connect and maintain that deep sense of fellowship and security as you go through life with others. Our Community Groups draw from relevant Biblical teaching and principles to encourage you in your faith as it helps you in life. They also are great ways to serve together!
Our Story
In 2017, our Pastor was approached by a three Edmond area churches ( FBC Edmond, Waterloo Road Baptist Church, and Quail Springs Baptist Church) to plant a Southern Baptist Church in the fast growing East Edmond area. Edmond Community Church was also supported by Oklahoma Baptists and Metro Baptist Association formerly known as Capital Baptist Association.
ECC held a public launch service on September 30th, 2018 at the Edmond Conference Center - Hilton Garden INN where we currently meet. Since then, ECC has had the blessing of planting two churches in OKC as well as three churches in Brazil.
In 2021, through prayer and sacrificial giving, ECC bought 50 acres in East Edmond along historic Route 66. In the summer of 2023, ECC began preparing the land for construction with the goal of finally having our own church building where we will worship the Lord and serve the East Edmond area where God has called us.
ECC History
What We Believe
What We Believe
Our Beliefs Shape Us
What we believe shapes not only how we see the world, but every action we take. That's why understanding what we believe is so important. Our church holds to the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). While we understand there is room for differing interpretations in what might be considered the “non-essentials,” we consider the 7 beliefs below to be essential foundations of our faith. Therefore, we place great importance on each of them at ECC.

The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, as well as the supreme and final authority in doctrine and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; John 17:17).

The Trinity
We believe there is one God, that the Father and the Son and the Spirit are each God, and that the Father and the Son and the Spirit are each a distinct person. We frequently state, “One God in Three Persons.” They are together, co-existent, co-eternal, co-equal as members of the Godhead. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; see also 1 Corinthians 8:6, Colossians 2:9 & Acts 5:3-4).

Jesus Christ
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God, fulfill prophecy and redeem sinful man. We believe He accomplished our redemption through His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, burial and bodily resurrection. We believe our redemption and salvation are guaranteed by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead and that He is the only means of salvation (John 1:1, 14, 18; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-26; 4:25; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Timothy 2:5).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, the creator and sustainer of heaven and earth, and the Head of the church. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is now in heaven, exalted to the right hand of God where, as High Priest to His people, He serves as our Advocate and intercedes for us (Colossians 1:15-19; Hebrews 1:3; 3:1; 7:23-25; 1 John 2:1-2).

The Holy Spirit
We believe God the Holy Spirit is a person who restrains evil in the world and convicts people of sin, righteousness and judgment. He dwells in all who believe in Jesus. From the moment of belief in the Son, the Spirit baptizes believers into the body, seals them for salvation, regenerates them to new life, bestows spiritual gifts on each one, and is fully present to continually fill (control and guide) His own. We are to seek His filling, leadership and promptings on a moment-by-moment basis. (John 16:7-11; John 3:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 13; John 14:16-17; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:19).

Humanity
We believe God created all things in heaven and earth and that they exist by His power (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16-17). We believe people were created innocent and in the image and likeness of God but in their sin, they brought both physical and spiritual death to themselves and to all who have been born since. We believe people inherited a sinful nature, are alienated from God, can do nothing to merit God’s favor, and are therefore in need of salvation (Genesis 1:27; 2:17; 3:19; Ephesians 2:1-3).

Regarding marriage, consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), we believe that God created humanity in His image: male (man) and female (woman) (Genesis 1:26-28, Romans 1:26-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11), and that marriage is a union ordained by God and intended as a commitment between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:18, Matthew 19:4-9, Mark 10:5-9, Ephesians 5:31-33).
It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His Church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6).

Salvation
We believe salvation is a sovereign gift of God and is received by a person through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin. We believe people are justified by grace through faith apart from works (Acts 13:38-39; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 1:4-5 & 2:8-10).
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation and that no one is saved apart from a conscious and personal decision to trust in Christ as his or her one and only Savior (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10).
We believe all true believers elect of God, once saved, are kept secure in Christ forever (Romans 8:1, 29-30, 38-39; John 10:27-30).

The Second Coming
We believe in the future, visible, and bodily return of Jesus Christ to the earth, commonly called the Second Coming, to rule the nations and establish His kingdom on earth (Philippians 3:20; Matthew 24:15-31; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-21).
